February Meeting Agenda: Approved

January Meeting Minutes: December and January minutes approved.

Treasurer’s Report:

  • GIPAC Account Balance $ 3951.96
  • $1000 received in donations

Public Comment: None

Updates/New Business:

  • Discussion of comment letter to Skagit County on Schoolhouse park SUP: Gabe to distribute link to committee to make comment , Kathy to make comment on behalf of GIPAC, Each individual member should make comment if possible.
  • Discuss follow-up letter to county re: re-establishment of ferry committee: sent on Jan 20th, Kathy to follow up with county receipt of letter mid Feb.

2025 Projects:

  • Skagit Transit: Allen to reach out to SKAT about transit on Guemes and pilot project to promote connection to Anacortes service.

Progress on 2025 Projects:

C23-1: Implement & Educate

  • Jep to connect with Jack Moore about steps County is taking (i.e. check-list/form; outreach to drillers)
  • Remind Steve to draft “what C23-1 means for Islanders” in Q1 2025

Rainwater Catchment

  • Reach out to Keith Higman to reconnect in the new year

USGS Report Release:

  • Still waiting on USGS

Track and Comment on Comp Plan & Shoreline Update:

  • 2/11 Planning Commission meeting 2/18 Goals, policy and implementation, 2/25 joint meeting with PC and BoCC, PC decision in April timeframe, Link to published schedule
    Ryan Walters consulting on title 14, public hearing in May

Establish website – GuemesPlanning.org

  • Allen has started, less is more, only populating with minimal content.
  • Minutes, agendas, endorsements (of things), White papers
