Brennan Filipini introduced himself as interested member of the community and member of the GICCA board
Updates/New Business:
Well drilling code amendment:
Steve and Jep attended the BoCC meeting Monday 2/5. BoCC 2/5/24 agenda. Steve asked if BoCC would respond to Kyle’s letter. Showed them a map of seawater intrusion that was agreed upon by drillers a long time ago. Gave them the history, asked them to push forward on code amendment and. Browning commented: got to consider development and water rights. Browning thinks we need to study this more.
The GIPAC board had a discussion about the history and code amendment, discussion about what to do next. We really want them to adopt the Island County code.
Bylaws revision: Gabe’s proposed changes were discussed and well taken, Kathy proposed giving more flexibility to the annual meeting and nomination process. 3.8 regular meetings: worded to be held to 12 meetings a year. Kathy to propose and consolidate bylaw amendments and distribute for the next meeting. The board did not vote on new Bylaws.
SKAT meeting: Will be held at community hall, 5:30pm on Friday the 25th. A discussion was had about skat bus routes and how times should be aligned with ferryschedule.
Ferry:
A discussion was had about the state of the new ferry proposal and wondering what will happen moving forward.
