Ferry:
- BoCC Letter re: re-engaging with the ferry committee – received reply that lawsuit prevents them from talking to Islanders about the ferry. Is there anything we can/should do about this?
- Likely nothing to do at this point. Let it sit for now.
- Anacortes dock Shoreline Permit
- GIPAC should make statement during public comment period.
New Board Member:
- Kathy to follow up with possible candidate to add to the board.
- Michael to reach out to additional candidate.
- Jep to reach out to additional candidate.
C23-1: Implement & Educate:
- Jep: Connect with Jack Moore about step county is taking (i.e. check-list/form; outreach to drillers)
- Steve to draft “what C23-1 means for Islanders in Q1 2025

- USGS Report Release:
- Kathy reached out to USGS.
- Hoping for May to be released?
Comp Plan & Shoreline Update:
- Kathy gave the committee an update on some observations of the county work on the comp plan.
- Long conversation about comp plan updates and how it applies to Guemes.
- Draft released: CompPlan2025_WholeDocumentRedlines_V2.0.pdf
- The comment period is Thursday, February 13, 2025, to Thursday, March 13, 2025
- A Planning Commission public hearing will be held on March 11, 2025 at 6:00 PM and possibly March 12, 2025 at 6:00 PM, if needed.
- Kathy/GIPAC to submit a comment letter.

Skagit Transit: Allen Update
- SKAT will be on Guemes during haul out
- 409 bus (24 and 54 minutes after the hour)
- Mert’s taxi: Hospital will pay Mert for Guemes Islanders for hospital trips during haul out.
- Skagit Transit is also considering a pilot on the island “to see what ridership would be like when the ferry is back in service.
City of Anacortes:
- Allen inquired about parking during haul out. No response yet.
